Insurance agencies are still trying to figure out their ROI on implementing Social Media. However, I am beginning to see some savvy agents using Twitter and Linkedin for prospecting and client retention. Those agents are branding themselves as experts in their field and creating a sense of community on a personally branded site that links back to the agency’s static page. For an agent that has a Target Marketing Program the internet can expand their prospect base across the country. Agents that begin this process now will set themselves apart from their competition because they are trying to figure it out the payback.

This is a hot topic that generates a lot of interest and discussion when I conduct sales meetings on How Producers can Use Social Media for Prospecting and Client Retention.

Either grow with technology or face extinction. Use every available tool to stay on top of your game. If you don’t, someone else will pick up where you left off.
