I agree with Dave. I don't work for the federal government and see faults with them just as everyone else, but come one. The government is the root of everyone's problems, regardless of the problem. Grown adults should be responsible for their own loss. Living along the coast or in a flood plain is about as blunt as it gets. What more warning do they want? When the day comes that no other areas are available to live, then I will retract this statement. I can also see that if the federal government does not provide this aid, they will be looked at as not caring for helping its people. It seems to be a double edged sword. I would suggest requiring zoning prior to more structures being built, but again, I don't see the feds setting strict guidelines. They just keep paying out when &@#* hits the fan.
