Good article and subtle slam at ISO 9000 standards that is both appropriate and deserved. All the ISO standards do is provide complete and thorough documentation of the process. There is no assurance the process produces good product or dreck. Only testing at the importer's shop will determine if the product is good or bad.
What is essential for any importer is quality assurance testing and documentation on each batch imported. Documentation is essential and must be kept indefinitely as product life must be assumed to be forever. The testing extends to instructions, packaging, and advertising material included with the product.
An importer who fails to batch test and document anything they enter into the stream of commerce is playing Russian roulette with the cylinder fully loaded.
