Jim Hull's critique and "solutions" are the same old song and dance we've heard from Insurance Carriers. Get real Jim, national chains such as McDonald's, Lowe's, and others, etc., etc. have franchises in different states across America with excellent safety and training programs, but only in California do they have the increased cost of doing business due to the workers compensation debacle that has occurred here. There may be more claims here if "you're" statistics say so, only because we've been bombarded by the lawyers advertising for clients and pointing out ills whether real or imagined they can suit for. They are keenly aware of the system and the "rewards" they can reap by filing a work related injury claim. State Senator Chuck Poochigian's recently passed bill aims to curb and minimize these "rewards" so that doctors and lawyers don't continue to abuse the system utilizing the ignorance of workers they can capitalize on. Mr. Hull sounds like he is trying to capitalize on his own interest via his consulting business.
