Mud, I agree that judges are there to enforce the law, and that these judges made the correct call based on that standard.

What is missing here is that for too long, in a society developed on the grounds of freedom and equality, the majority has imposed it's will by legislating opinion and morality.

The same-sex issue is a prime example. Just because some groups find the practice offensive, an individual's choice of sexual orientation in no way infringes on the rights of other individuals. Why should they not have the same rights to legitamize their relationship simply because they choose to partner with someone of the same gender? This whole debate has become absolutely ludicrous.

Whatever happened to the principle of separation of church and state? Keep "morality" that is founded out of misguided religious bigotry out of the laws that govern a nation of diversity.

I'm a Christian and a Republican, but I beleive the law should concern itself with protecting the rights of all people, not dictate who is "right" and "wrong" based on their set of beliefs.
