I did not say that some people believe, because the lie has been told over and over, that separation of church and state is in our constitution. Because they believe that does not make it so.
No one in this country is forced to believe any religion, and they have the legal authority to practice any religion they want or no religion at all.
Gays have exactly the same rights as everyone else. I cannot marry another man, nor can anyother man marry another man. My wife cannot marry another woman, nor can anyother woman marry another woman. That is equal protection and equal treatment. Just because some people want to marry the same sex, not gender, does not create an inequality, they are actually trying to garner additional rights that the rest of society does not have.
I pay attention to the debates, but most of it is sillyness. If I say one nation under god, I am not harmed in any way. It does not matter if I believe in God or not. The people who sue over such issues waste valuable time and resources, but that is only my humble opinion.
I challenge anyone to show any proof in our constitution that says separation of church and state. The only mention of such statement was in a letter written by Jefferson, I think, years after the constitution was accepted.
Our courts were created to give an opportuntiy for a harmed party to become whole(if possible). I would like to see any legitimate studies showing how someone was harmed by saying one nation under god.
