Mr McKenna was correct when he said "This is America. This shouldn't happen". Why the Wilcox's tried to deceive the insurance company & the public in cancelling the vehicles coverage is due to pure greed. Now they must pay the price. Yhey also should be made to sell anything else they own to try to make restitution for the peoples whose lives are now destroyed. As for CT & the reform to require all vehicles to have minimum liability coverage, NY has had an electronic verification system in place for 5 YEARS for all vehicles, even for-hire! They live right next door-haven't they heard about it? It is not the states' responsibility to make sure that everyone has insurance, but it is their responsibility to protect it's citizens.
