There is a Law Enforcement fee applied to the auto insurance policy. The cost is $5.00 per year per insured vehicle. My memory indicated that a certain percentage of the collected funds went directly to New York City, the rest went into the state's general fund and then counties and other governmental entities could request funds for the purpose of auto theft reduction. The fee applies to both personal and commercial auto policies.
