Is it appropriate for the Father-in-law of the incoming Governor to be offered a POLITICAL appointment to a position that is being vacated by another POLITICAL appointee who is under indictment? I thought the leaders of insurance companies are Insurance People. Or at least should be.
IWIF is the largest writer of Workers' Compensation in Maryland providing coverage for thousands of workers. How can the integrity of such a vital cog in the benefits and medical coverage of these thousands of workers be treated so lightly to think that anyone can fill the position of leader of such an important component of the economy?
OK, Curran was the Attorney General. I'm an Insurance Agent. Maybe they can appoint me as Governor or Attorney General. I'm about as qualified for those positions as Curran and his son-in-law are for the top positions at Insurance Companies.
The last time I looked, neither Curran nor Martin have CPCU, CIC, ARM, or any other Insurance Designations behind their names. But, they probably want to keep it in the family, even though it is a company supported by Maryland taxpayers.
