Saw a breakdown on the price of gas the other day.

Crude = $1.43
Refining = $1.07
Taxes & Distribution = $0.65

Last year the cost of refining was $0.60.

Unfortunately the real people to blame for the high price of gas is ourselves. Do yourself a favor and take a look at when the last refinery was built in this country. If memory serves me right, it was back in the late 60's. We don't have the refining capacity and the reason for it is the "not in my backyard" attitude most everyone has.
