Some furnaces burn hotter than others. I quit smoking in October and gained 25 lbs w/o increasing my caloric intake at all. I really have to watch what I eat now because my metabolism went through the floor w/o nicotine. If I were to eat as much now as I was then, and say that I now have the disease called Post-Smoking Syndrome which is causing me to gain weight. Or I could cut back on the calories and not have to buy new pants. I chose the latter, still gained a lot of weight, and had to buy new pants. But at least I tried.

I'm not Dr. Slim, I just know that calories must be either burned or stored.
