Hi,
I happened to notice your article dated December 15,2006. Rates in Mass did not get cut in 2006. This insurance industry along with this state is scamming us. There was no discount in 2007 either, as a matter of fact I have been charged up to $600 a year since 2003 for a 2002 accident. When the step system changed to the point system last year, my insurance company charged me not only for a new accident that occurred on 10/2006, but they also charged me for the accident in 2002 that I was already being charged for for 5 years. I called the committee at the state house and told them, but I was just told that wasn't true.

Massachusetts pays a 'Cares Van' for highway breakdowns etc. who are called by the state police. Guess who the cares van is owned by? Commerce Insurance.

What a scam! I filed a complaint with the Division of Insurance in July 2007 via email. I have also called them several times, but to no avail, they never return my calls.

I even called the Insurance Commissioner to complain and the her secretary refused to leave my information and told me to contact my insurance company who is not corecting anything. A circular event....that's what Massachusetts is all about in almost every department you call and believe me, I have.
