Rhode Island state police say they arrested a man this week whose blood alcohol level was 0.491 percent -- the highest ever recorded in Rhode Island for someone who wasn't dead.

Subject: Why Sedated? This is why
Safer course of care in this incident is to sedate them, where you take over vital control of the body (such as putting them on a ventillator) to breathe for them so they don't "lose" the will to breathe.
Scary on many fronts.
