i agree that the agreement was made by man to his spouse before god. that was how it was initially meant and should always mean to be. the unfortunate thing is that society has changed and think it should mean any joining of two individuals and they all deserve the same right as a truly married couple (male/female). but if you look at the law that NY has, it states that the same-sex marriage is not recognized, therefore any contract made w/the law in mind has to be enforced as such. so is this judge stating that the laws of NY are invalid? um...makes you wonder how he could not validate why the law should be given precedence. i think they will appeal or should be anyways.
