well, if the state recognizes marriages from other countries and states including a gay marriage, then why does it not allow gay marriage w/in the state? is NY a hypocritical political society? the article nor in the previous remarks was it stated that NY recognizes other marriages despite the fact it does not allow it in it's own state.

its a shame that we have to fend the act of marriage only to get it undermined by what a marriage is. in many states the use of civil union is used but many still don't recognize it as a marriage for married rate but as singles who cohabitate and want the benefits of being married. it's like a sword with a dull edge and one w/a sharp one. lawyers are having a field day because they can manipulate the law by showing one thing - think about the example of the glass 1/2 empty or is it 1/2 full.

do i feel that marriage is being rocked by society - personally yes! but do i harbor any ill feelings toward those who want to lead a different life - NO. i might believe and discourage that living to the young ones, children. if your an adult, you have to live w/the decisions that you make including your lifestyle. it's just like the so-called mix-marriages.
