$500 won't do much of anything..don't know where they get their low figures from. Emergency care ranges $2000-$4000, based on an article at petplace.com where a dog hit the windshield on a rearending. $500 is for an SPCA pet too...your purebreds are ranging $1200, and that doesn't include shots! I love my pets, and I only want to keep them save and healthy...you can't just replace a pet, they aren't property, they are living beings and worth more than some people I know.
