I am tired of all of these acronym warriors who have no respect for our constitution. They all want to implement new laws to regulate peoples behavior, yet they have no respect for the rule of law (the U.S. Constitution). Why should we care about any new law that they manage to force upon us, if MADD and the other acronym warriors don't respect the current rule of law.
The last time I checked the American People have the right to travel and we therefore, have the right to utilize the most efficient means at our disposal. If we are able and are not a threat to the property or health of others then we have the right to drive a motorized vehicle after we demonstrate proficiency. The government does not yet have the right to arbitrarily withhold this right from any citizen. I know there are many among us who would like to give this arbitrary power to the government, but there are still a few of us willing to fight for our freedom. Freedom gives us the right to make stupid decisions as long as we understand that there will be consequences.
No one was guaranteed a risk free life at birth. As long as you live on this planet there will be risk and no amount of human legislation will change that.
Maybe the folks at MADD should "stop being MADD," and try going to church.
