Very enlightening comments, and I think we all agree that we want our roadways to be as safe as possible. However, I did not see one comment or question relating to the article: 1)what are the eleven recommendations made by the NTSB? 2)what are the two Rhode Island implemented? And, if they are only recommendations, not mandates or edicts, should we not know the answers to the above before commenting on the effectiveness of Rhode Island's (or any other state's) traffic laws? I could be wrong, but I suspect that there are no states where drunk driving is legal, or isn't taken seriously, as it should be.
