If I enter the mall, I expect the roof not to cave in, I expect not to get sucked up by a trick escalator.
Its not "Use at Your Own risk"
It just doesn't work that way, and im glad it doesn't, otherwise you would see a lot of escalators that didn't work very well.
If the escalator company is on the hook for me losing a foot, then overall, it provides an incentive to make sure they are safe.
Same goes for crocks for that matter.
