now i have 2 kids and they have grown up and moved out of the house. 1 actually has his own place and the other curr in college. but if you stop and take a look backwards, you will find out that we never were given a book on raising a son or daughter. it was learn on the fly, or remember what our parents did. afterall, it probably was mom who tied our shoe and we had to repeat the process ourselves. same thing when it comes to usage of an escalator. getting on and off for small children should be taken seriously as a parent for they can get hurt. i think that this issue was not truly related to the shoe, but to proper usage of the escalator. i remember holding my kids hands and telling them to step off. sometimes even lifting them up to get off the escalator.

so if we really are trying to blame someone, then i guess we can get social services involved for endangerment of a child. injuring his toe and blaming the maker of a shoe for his injuries!
