i used to be an otr trucker, driver trainer... open borders for commerce, is fair and equitable, as well as good for business; canada's been doing it for years; we just have a tendacy to think that the mexican trucking companies can't keep safe trucks; i know i remember seeing a few that seemed not in good shape... we just need to make sure they bring safe trucks across the border... but in this case, it had nothing to do w/the the border crossing... it has to do w/proper maintence and record keeping, including maintaining the insurance...
