"The county will pay about $1.2 million of the settlement, with insurance companies covering the remainder."....and about 40% to 50% of the total going to the lawyers, with the plaintiffs getting about a buck each after that. Class actions are a lawyer's game. We all know they're not the great humanitarians they'd like everyone to believe they are. And on top of that, the insurers probably got ripped off by the defense lawyers who double bill and train their associates at our expense. Can't win for losing.
