First I believe so highly in free speech that I served in combat with the army during the First Gulf War. So do not question my patriotism! Unlike most of the arm-chair warriors that are currently engaged in the daily spilling of american and iraqi blood. Secondly, ponder this. If instead of entering into a very pointless and highly costly war on March 19, 2003 And spending - losing billions of american taxpayer dollars destroying a regime most of the people in the current adminstration helped create. What if that money would have been spent on creating new industries, bolstering US infrastructure and taking care of american citizens (healthcare, education) and developing technologies that would ultimately result in profitable and equitable solutions to many of the issues you and i debate right now. To say that current political decisions (like the war)have no bearing on the global climate change debate is very comparable to throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Thirdly, Rightwing tactics are becoming very predictable and waning. In that since they have no logical argument against the issue they attack moral character claiming that any view contrary to current policy is unpatriotic. Essentially attacking the very fiber of what America is supposed to be based on. While at the same time claiming to wage a war in the name of freedom and democracy.
