After suffering roof and ceiling damage to my home from hurricane Rita I knew to wait as patiently as possible for an adjuster to come to my home to appraise the damage. I felt fortunate that within 10 days one arrived, from Kansas,with knowledge and a carrying a attitude of seeing that my claim would be carried through as quickly as possible. The end result has been not true though, for issuance of my claim check, after deductables, was made out to a lienholder that does not even exist, thus I missed not only a day's wages from work, I now have to wait for the process to begin all over again to recieve a claim check so that I can repair damage to my home. Living in Louisiana, calling Ohio, trying to keep my emotions in check was very diffucult, because three different phone calls brough three different guides to follow. One common issue these calls did bring, and that is somebody wants to put the "blame game" on someone else, when in reality I, the homeowner, has to suffer the consequences of either administrative or clerical errors. During these moments, when Louisiana weather is never predictable at its best, I was finally put in touch with a supervisor who told me that since the current hurricane Wilma is turning for Florida, that my roof damage from Hurricane Rita would be ok until they straightened matters out! This is not the service I feel I payed monthly premimums for, nor what I feel is customer service. I am very disappointed with AMI, its associates, and I believe any homeowner in my position would feel the same.
