I thought only their adjusters disliked this company.lol! I have heard of numerous Farmers agents going independent. I have been an independent agent 6 years now. Only thing worse than being a FIG agent would be to be an Allstate Independent Contractor/Captured agent. Anybody wanting to get in this business has a lot better chance of success going independent. It would not surprise me to see the likes of Allstate, Farmers, AAA, etc trying to go to the independent agent form of distribution. Getting agents to be successful in their method is very difficult unless they give them clients which means they are probably not very good agents if they can not be successful on their own accord. By the way, I was an adjuster for 8 years and Farmers claim service is awful. Their helppoint is nothing more than a big call center staffed with idiots. Their field adjusters are good and adequately trained but are asked to handle about 3 times as many claims as their counterparts at other companies. This makes their service bad too.
