believe it or not, there are some bad doctors out there who do stupid things. If this child was brain damaged due to the negligence of the doctor, the aware may not cover the care needed for life; we don't know as there aren't many facts given. I'm not pro lawsuit, but if someone causes a real injury via negligence, they should be held financially responsible for that negligence. Good grief folks, most of our positions exist due to the need for compensation due to negligence.

The level of some of the comments out there are downright sick; this is a child who was evidently badly injured, note this was a SETTLEMENT, he/she was not a clump of cells to be thrown to the side of the road because it might have been convenient.
