Commonsense would dictate as the # of riders increased, so too would the # of deaths. Ridership went up 88%; deaths went up 80%. Imagine that! But looking at the numbers, it appears people are actually riding more safely these days.

If you don't want to wear a helmet, that's your perogative. But when you are lying comatose in a hospital bed, after suffering a head injury that might have been prevented by strapping a helmet on your head... well, I guess you won't have much to say at that point.
