The entire priest abuse issue and ensuing litigation is ridiculous. I in no way condone the behavior of a small number of priests and those in the church who ignored the problem. Having said that, enough already. There should have been a statute-of-limitations on these alleged claims. In this case (like most) the pltf. waited THIRTY FOUR YEARS to come forward. I find it inconceivable that if someone was so traumatized that it could take THIRTY FOUR YEARS to make a claim. Of course "it's never about money" but then it was only after money was introduced into the equation that these brave souls came forward. IT IS ALL ABOUT MONEY. The church finally recognized the problem. Making people rich isn't going to speed elimination or at least mitigation of the problem. So who's fooling who with these suits? I also don't believe that it's only the Catholic church that has this problem. Any organization that works with children has the risk.
