Yeah, let's blame THE VICTIM. He waited too long?!? Victims of childhood sexual abuse spend years suffering from guilt, embarrassment, and shame. All he wants is money? As far as I am concerned, this award hardly compensates for the fact that someone's childhood was stolen, and that this is something he'll have to deal with for the rest of his life. These jerks got away with it for as long as they did because for many years, no one had the courage to step forward, and when they did, the church simply reassigned the priest to another parish. No one is saying the Catholic Church is the only one with this problem, but they knew about it for years and refused to deal with it, setting up more innocent children to be victimized. Your sympathy toward the church's actions in this matter are misguided.
