Insurance industry leaders such as the Independent Insurance Agents/Brokers of America (IIABA)are being pro-active in lending their support to candidates regardless of political parties. Unfortunately, money talks and it gets a legislators' attention.

However, we know our business better than any legislator or Chief of Staff, so it is our job to educate them on the issues. A better understanding of the issues allows them to make an informed decision based on the facts. If we don't look out for ourselves, who will?

Campaign Finance Reform? McCain/Feingold bill essentially accomplished nothing and today contributions are at an all-time high from the Trial Lawyers, Realtors, Insurance Industry, etc. We will always need to support a candidate(s) who believe in your cause, otherwise your views/beliefs will be put further down in the stack!
