Funding may have some influence on any study. But, as one who was diagnosed with sleep apnea five years ago, the fact that I recognized I had a problem and went to a doctor who recognized the symptoms and got me into a sleep study, I am convinced there are many others with similar problems. These people are posing a risk to their own health and well being, as well as that of those driving on the same highways. Medication is of no value to a person with sleep apnea. The remedy is a machine which maintains airflow to the lungs through the night, eliminating the sleep interruptions and allowing for a full nights sleep. I am aware of a number of friends and work associates that have been diagnosed with the same problem over the past couple of years.
