Let me get this right. State Farm totals cars, fails to brand the titles as salvage, and then expects to be congratulated for admitting they screwed up?!? What ever happened to ethics, morals and accountability? Just read the quote from St. Farm spokesman Fraser Engerman. This is straight out of the posted article, and he's referring to the fact that St. Farm discovered the errors and reported them to the State prosecutors:


"This is something we didn't have to do. We were very proactive in coming to the attorneys general," he said.

Something they didn't HAVE to do? What is the other option? Concealing it from authorities and their policyholdlers? As far as I'm concerned, if they had knowledge of the problem, and they didn't reveal it, it's a material misrepresentation.

If I were insured with St. Farm, I would move my business to a different carrier and use the opportunity to explain the concept of personal responsibility to my 6 year old. My guess is that he has a better grasp of right & wrong than what Mr. Fraser Engerman does.
