On vehicles which they paid total losses and passed along those vehicles to be sold again without benefit of obtaining a salvage title? Surely a company of that size has a salvage vendor who is responsible for obtaining salvage titles and selling the salvage and returning to State Farm the funds in excess of the cost of the storage and fees. Sounds like there was a bad vendor involved. State Farm had absolutely nothing to gain from this conduct and there has been harm to their reputation.

It is possible they had an insider with authority over salvage who was either lazy or receiving kick-backs. Either way, State Farm is being honorable to admit they had an internal problem which caused harm to the public. I cannot fathom they condoned this conduct...no insurance carrier would much less one of that stature in the marketplace.
