Subject: RE: RE: Asbestos fund
The purpose of this bill is to ensure that people who have asbestosis can get paid because so many lawsuits have been filed that the companies are kaput. Last time I looked, Haliburton was still in business.
I ground unknown dozens of asbestos gaskets off of valves and traps in my day and have no ill effects to my lungs, despite having spent hours standing in asbestos dust. If I wanted to I could file and get in line for my handout, but I am not a theif like many who have profited from this ridiculous situation.
Had not every Tom Dick and Ned been in line for a freebie maybe these companies would still be around and this whole boondogle woulda never been.
