All the Zurich companies (Farmers, Foremost, Universal and others in US)has spent the last few years getting their house back in order and have never been stronger. They have overcome their profit problems, made huge advancements in surplus and now they have stated their goals of increased market share. I would not be surprised if a merger like this happened in the future as the Zurich CEO has stated before that he wants to double their size. (However, I expect he would keep the power) Their present (American)CEO completely turned the company around in less than 3 years and is now both focused and well-funded.
