His parents could sue, doesn't mean they'll win. That's why you carry liability insurance, to pay for your defense. If you are negligent, then they'll have a good shot at you. If you have a known hole in your hard and he gets in trouble there, it might be shown that you were negligent in fixing this potential problem. On the other hand, I wonder if it could be proven that a homeowner is negligent if a kid slips on wet grass, when you as the adult were supposed to know that would be a hazard. Hmmm...
