I was a "traveling salesperson" BC (before cell) - I used pagers, 800 voice mail and pay phones. I was no where near as efficient as I am today in the land of cells and Blackberry. I always hated looking for a pay phone - total time waste. I make MORE $$$$ because I can manage significantly more business by being always connected.
Why do I think driving and talking is safe? - 18 years experience, thousands of miles with the steering wheel and the cell phone.
New? maybe not so new.
My father had a radio phone in his Lincoln by the early 70s. Was the CB ever a safety issue back when it was hot mid 70s?
What about my GPS?
