What gets me is the time and money spent on this without any effort to target aggressive driving or drivers who block the passing lane in rush hour every day. Those are the real crimes. DUI enforcement may be high profile but you can bet that there are no police patrolling your neighborhood to deter burlargy or someone rifling through your car IN YOUR DRIVEWAY. No, they go after the easy stuff. I agree that the numbers don't add up; check them out yourself. It's not just the numbers but the interpretation. My brother died when a tractor rolled over on him...do we target farmers or John Deere? Cops should do more police work and less politcal work. I don't doubt that people die from DUI but what about those who just die from a plain old, simple auto accident? Who do we target then...each and every driver on the road? This is MADD pushing prohibition in the back door.
