Here's the other thing you may not realize. having been a veteran for 13 yrs, in some states if the drinking age is higher and the post is w/in so many miles, the age to drink on based is raised to meet that local need. reasoning, is why lose business and have a military member go offbase; the caution is they are not allowed to travel offbase. here again, comes in the responsiblity of the person.

is it not like handing a child a piece of candy, but whom is held responsible? if he gets older and continues to eat candy, do we blame the parent whom gave him the first one? or the individual whom continued to eat candy? sometimes i think we tend to forget that each of us are responsible for our own actions. we are not insane, we have created a syndrome whereas someone can always get out of taking responsiblity for their own actions! where will it end? why can't we hold the children responsible? in europe, they do allow kids a drink of wine at the table. we just need to be not only responsible to our kids, but make our kids be responsible -- parents need to take an active role in raising the kids at being responsible.
