Your kids aren't all kids. If your kids are run of the mill average in every way maybe you'd have an argument. Even then there are tons of single parent homes where kids don't usually get all the proper guidance they are looking for.

Alcohol and car keys in the hands of dumb kids (which there are a lot of in this country) is a dangerous combination. The hope is that at a later age that these young people at least have the ability to make more responsible decisions.
