Sure it is easy for some 6 figure salaried employee to pay a mere $200 a month for his/her family, but what about the clerical employee barely making enough to keep their family's collective head above water. 10% of their take-home pay means the difference between groceries and health insurance.
My favorite excuse for all this: "we have a responsibility to our stock holders to reduce costs and increase profits...etc." on the backs and wallets of it's employees?
Ohh and while they are at it...take a few more holidays away. We're down to 6 now. Heck make us work on christmas too that should increase profits!
