Wouldn't be nice if we heard from the Insusrance Commissioners, and their associatons, Agents associations, plus some company CEO's,especially the larger personal lines writers, the ISO, Ins Institue etc.?? It seems that there is also definitely a NEED for a basic set of definitions for the Catastrofies for ALL COMPANIES and State Insurance Commissioners to demand that all writers use the IDENTICAL WORDING for such definitions. Ditto the flat, percentage, disappearing deductibles and perhaps even an agreed to choices of Homeowners MINIMUM deductible [even if based on face amount coverages ] I believe a national public discussions on Public Television, explanations of Property Insurance basics and how the companies and agents/brokers can improve spread of risk....on a state [minimum], regional and national basis. Can the earthquake , flood, hurricane, landslide, forest fire, tsunami, storm surge etc. be defined and calculated to form a single line called "CATOSTROPIC COVERAGE" ????? -- OR Natural Disaster Coverage ???? Any one have any knowlege about what is going on to solve these problems?? Yep, not from just a past experience [Katrina took it all and a large co. is not very interested in our claim ! ] but in addition to learning from the past, NOW is the time to get busy on the future---how can so much damaged and destroyed areas properties be insured, municipalities, counties even states survive and prosper?? That brings a big bug-a-boo---no property, no {or a HUGE reduction!!}of TAX REVENUES from property, sales, income etc. etc.!!!!
