I think the safety record is terrible. Each miner should be required to carry a napsack with food, snacks, and extra sox and underwear in case they get trapt. This way they could last that much longer for help to arrive. pLus a cell phone to call for help or a laptop computer to write to thier family. This should all be reqwuired to be carried in a napsack by each person that goes down there for any length of time.
