Subject: RE: Micro cars
1. The minicars produce pollution too...are you kidding? When I say that, I'm serious...are you kidding? I was wondering if you're suggesting that a Prius produces the same amount of pollution as a Hummer? Are you suggesting that large SUVs such as Hummers, Excalades, etc. burn the same amount of gas as the minicars...Certainly, you're not saying that.
2. Banning SUVs...of course not. Instead, you should just be required to have a commercial license to drive one. I don't care what kind of car I'm driving, if I get hit by the small bus that is one of these giant SUVs, I'm going to be in bad shape. I have a suggestion...why don't we all just drive tanks. I mean, sure, the gas mileage is terrible, but the fatality rates would go way down. Why should we simply limit ourselves to driving old troop carriers like the Hummer, let's go all the way!
3. The clown comment was particularly fantastic. Just think how bad it would be to have a group in power that appoints agency heads based on how many hunting trips they've taken with the president rather than being qualified. How terrible it would be to have a bunch of clowns in power that can't read an intelligence report without about passing out from the excitment of blowing something up. Or having a clown in power that pronounces less words right than my 8 year old niece, and lies to keep himself out of trouble more than my 12 year old nephew. You're right...that would be just terrible.
Obviously, a smaller, lighter car is not going to protect you as well as a giant truck. But I'm curious if you will all be singing the same tune about SUVs when gas hits $10/gallon, the average winter temp in Alaska is 75.
