Subject: RE: RE: Really???
Without the snide remarks, I would like to point out that very few people disagree that the world is getting warmer. Some do, and they do have some evidence to support their position.
Let's assume that the world is getting warmer. (I do) The question then becomes "Why?". There is a great deal of evidence to support the idea that it is a natural occurence, and that mankind has contributed to it in an infinitesinal way, if at all.
I personally believe that. As other posters have stated (rudely) the ice has been retreating for millennia, well before humanity was a significant force on the planet, and extremely well before the industrial revolution.
My question is this- if humanity is basically contributing to 1% of the global warming problem, why should I have to be subject to draconian laws? If it's going to happen anyway, how come I'm being punished for it?
And please don't insinuate that because my position is different from yours that I'm some sort of ignorant, inhumane fascist. I want my children to inherit a livable world as well.
Al Gore ignored huge bodies of evidence showing that the earth would be warming anyway and that humanity has advanced that process by about a decade.
Apparently those facts were inconvenient to him.
