I still remember Joan Claybrook singing the praises of friendly these little balloons that would emerge from our dashboards and caress our faces or alternatively rip our heads off. The ambulance chasers had a great time suing manufacturers who provided an airbag that blew somebody's head off their shoulders and then turned around and sued manufacturers who did not provide an airbag to drivers who couldn't be bothered to fasten their seat belts and splatted their faces on the steering wheel, dashboard, and windshield. Now I'm sure these same ambulance chasers will sue for hearing loss when the balloon explodes.
