You may be surprised to learn the bus and motorcoach industry welcomes additional oversight and feels there is much room to improve the safety record of the industry that has averaged 10 fatalities annually over the past thirty years. Of course 41,000 people died on our Nation's highways last year. That means bus and motorcoach represented .0002% of the Nation's highway fatalities last year. Important? Yes, definitely. Worthy of a Congressional hearing? Doubtful. Face it, the most danferous form of transportation in our Nation is the the family car. Now that is worth a Congressional hearing!
