As someone who works with highly educated people it is amazing to me to witness the complete lack of understanding of even insurance basics across all lines. Even insurance lines that are citical to a profession are poorly understood by the insureds. Homeowners, auto, personal umbrellas...it's like Greek. Somehow, we need to do a better job of educating a population which frankly finds "insurance" too technical, too boring or just too much to understand.
