Yes, insureds are uninformed. But sometimes it's the other way around, too. I called an agent for a quote and *I* was the one chasing her around for info re: additional coverage. After I got my really high quote, I shopped around and got a policy elsewhere. But a few weeks later, I get a letter from a credit bureau for an unpaid premium -- for the QUOTE she had written for me. (She blamed Travelers for the error.) She was NO HELP.
