This makes me want to puke. Merck caving in was a travesty. We have people who can't afford prescription drugs now. Who do you think is going to absork the cost of this "settlement"? $1.6 billion in attorney fees for the plaintiff lawyers is unconscionable. They should be reimbursed for their hours spent on each case and nothing more. People in this country just don't get it. Here'a respected drug maker who takes it in the backside for trying offer a pain killing drug. It would serve people right if drug makers refuse to offer any prescription drugs to the public until they have been studied for 10 years. Penalizing a firm for something that is unforseen is absurd.
